Saliva Testing OralDNA® Labs

A New Approach To A Personalized Treatment Plan

With Saliva Testing, we offer testing for the profile of oral bacteria that cause periodontal disease. These bacteria, especially at high levels, and in combination with your genetic inflammatory response, result in bad breath, painful, bleeding gums, loss of bone and eventually tooth loss. But the consequences of these same bacteria, present for years and decades, add significantly to the risk of wide range of life threatening diseases beyond the mouth. Below are some of those diseases and the measurable risk of those diseases becoming serious if these oral pathogens are not treated.

The association between Gum Disease and other bodily conditions should be taken seriously. The bacteria that enters our bloodstream via our mouths can travel to other parts of our bodies or vice versa. Every part of the body is connected someway somehow.

As these assessments are being performed, the Clinical Team at Ligocki Dental Group notes any risk factors for oral and systemic diseases that you present with and thoroughly explains the correlations to you. We can then organize a profile that includes oral and systemic risk factor findings and discuss how your chronic (reversible) gingivitis or (irreversible) periodontal disease may place you at risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, respiratory complications, stroke, poor nutrition, pre-term delivery and even adverse pregnancy outcomes, memory loss, and male impotency.

To better your oral and overall health, a personalized treatment plan is important! This allows the Clinical Team at Ligocki Dental Group to prescribe the best periodontal therapy and antibiotics that fit your bacterial condition.
